Greenwood Café Bistro offers a fresh vibrant cuisine, during the day we open our doors at 10:00 for breakfast continuing on to lunch, we are a stylish but traditional café bistro, serving everything from soup and sandwiches to more gourmet foodie inspired dishes.
However, we feel what makes it that little bit special is that during the evenings of Friday and Saturday we transform into an intimate bistro with damask table cloths and a full artisan Anglo-Mediterranean menu, changing monthly.
We want to bring back the Sunday lunch, so we are doing just that, our local butcher provides us with Beef and Lamb just for the occasion, we offer delicious sirloin of beef and leg of lamb, in addition to fresh fish, vegetarian and vegan options.
Hiring of the restaurant for a celebration or an intimate wedding please get in touch for your bespoke requirements.
We source everything locally and endeavour to use seasonal produce.
We know everyone is different, therefore we cater for precisely that; meat eaters, vegetarian, vegan and fish lovers alike.
Our menus are adaptable and if there is something on there you want to miss out or add, we can do that for you.
Our wine list compliments the food that we are serving.

Small and lively bubbles burst on the tongue. A smooth mousse and subtle wild apples and pear fruits exude from the palate with a refreshing lift on the finish.

A delightfully frothy sparkler with a dry effervescence. Light Straw yellow with fine and persistent perlage. Delicate and particularly fruity with fine reminiscent of wisteria and acacia flowers.
Greenwood House Champagne Delacoste and Fils, Brut Bottle – £50
This well balanced Champagne puts red grapes at the forefront, 60% pinot noir and 35% pinot meunier with a small splash of chardonnay, the wine is aged for at least 15 months after bottling to encourage plenty of complexity in aromatics and flavour.

A perfumed nose with hints of citrus and white fruits. Fresh and easy on the palate, with a creamy mousse and notes of honeysuckle.
Veuve Clicquot, Vintage 2012 – France Bottle – £95
This is one of the most famous Champagne houses for good reason. The quality is incredibly high with 85% of the blend coming from Gran Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. The special cuvee has velvet bubbles with flavours of pear, brioche and gentle spice.

The nose is complex and aromatic with added richness from barrel fermentation. Aromas of lime, apricots and peaches and undertones of acacia. Aged for 6 months in French oak barrels before bottling.

Pale yellow in colour with hints of green. Wonderful aromas of zesty lime and subtle white flowers. Clean and bright on the palate with lovely acidity.

An iconic French white wine with intense gooseberry and green fruit aromas. A mouth-watering crisp palate of light peach and citrus is all wrapped up in a lovely minerality on the finish.

Mandorla “The Almond” is an intense red coloured wine. Bouquet with rich notes of tobacco and dried fruit. On the palate the wine is well balanced and elegantly structured. Similar to the Shiraz grape.

Lush ruby with hints of purple. Lingering fruit aromas, dry well balanced and delightfully tannic with concentrated berry flavours and a full body.
Cotes du Rhone Domaine de l’Espigoutte – France (V) Bottle – £39
Brilliant garnet colour, with a classic Rhone nose of bramble fruits and heady spice. The medium bodied palate has fresh and snappy red fruit surrounded by firm and persistent tannins.
Rioja Rerseva, Cerro Anon, Bodegas Olarra – Spain Bottle –£40
The Cerro Anon Reserva is a medium full weight Rioja with really deep, juicy Tempranillo fruit flavours, soft tannins and subtle hints of vanilla and spice. A satisfying and well-balanced red.
Pinot Noir, Puy de Dome, Cave Saint Verny – France (V) Bottle – £45
Very good quality Pinot Noir from the Loire Valley which will run rings around many a Burgundy. It has great purity of fruit and a subtle freshness. A real gem from the region more famed for its white wines.
Rioja Reserva, Bodegas Muga – Spain Half Bottle – £26
This wine has spent 36 months in oak before further resting in the bottle. The oak gives it a fantastic structure, its flavours are richly complex with blackberry, vanilla, coffee and a hint of spice.
Chateauneuf du Pape, Vieux Chemin, Chateau Fargueirol – France Bottle – £59
The origins of the Chateau date back to 1344 and it was originally a papal property. Purchased by the Revoltier family in 1976 and in the 40 hectares are now planted with 60% Grenache, 15% Syrah, with the remaining 25% spread over 11 different varieties. Modern summer fruits with notable spice.
Barola, Le Albe, Gd Vajra – Italy Bottle – £105
Ruby red colour with aromas of red fruits and plums combining with floral notes, pine needles and brushwood. ‘Le Albe’ is full of sophisticated and delicate flavours with ripe tannins and an elegant acidity.
Chateau Gloria 2009 – France Bottle – £125
Loaded with notes of Christmas fruitcake intermixed with red and blackcurrants, liquorice, spice box and blackberries. This inky purple coloured wine is full bodied with great texture and balanced tannin.
Chateauneuf du Pape, Telegraph 2010 – France Bottle – £175
Deep ruby plum purple colour with notes of crushed Provencal herbs, framboise, kirsch, liquorice and pepper. Full bodied with good acidity and distinct earthy character.
